Short Description

The Staff Accountant will provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. The candidate will also be involved in driving continuous process and procedural improvements. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly journal entries
  • Prepares internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments/other systems
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Understands and maintains Sarbanes Oxley Compliance
  • Project work as assigned

Professional Experience

Three to five years of accounting experience
Public Accounting Experience preferred

Educational Background

Bachelor - Accounting; CPA a plus

Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite and other business software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and implement "Best Practice" processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely & accurately with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Problem solving, multi-tasking, analytical thinking and good communication a must!
  • Accounting/GAAP/SOX Compliance
