Who we're looking for

A creative, business minded, technologically savvy apprentice who will have the opportunity to develop IT skills by working and collaborating with the Herc Rentals Digital Transformation Team.  You will get vital exposure to our applications, tools, and processes.  You will meet and interact with various Herc Rentals Team Members and get a chance to work closely with our Senior IT Leaders.

How you will make a difference

  • Learn about telematics, mobile applications, cloud architecture and several tools.
  • Assess current capabilities and document and translate business requirements.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Provide analysis and metrics as necessary to monitor performance and success of current and future product implementations.
  • Assist with overall day-to-day management of multiple projects including maintaining accurate project plans, producing meeting minutes, and ensuring that project objectives are achieved within time/cost/quality constraints. 
  • Ensure project documentation is up to date and accessible to others, as required. 
  • Plan and manage internal and external project communications, make certain of effective exchange of project information, status, issues, risks, and deliverables. 
  • Provide the team with fresh insight/approach to achieving team goals and successes. 
  • Be the liaison between teams working as an intermediary who helps support and translate needs across business units and functions. 
  • Partner with development and technical teams to ensure that they understand the specifications, conduct business process modeling, and generate applicable scenarios for the testing team. 
  • Drive investigations by validating and translating business requirements into functional requirements (what) and solutions (how) and contribute throughout the enhancement and new development process with analysis, solutions, user acceptance testing and training. 
  • Support new product offerings and digital transformation initiatives
     

A day in the life

  •  Support the Digital Transformation team with overall day-to-day tasks including but not limited to maintaining software, troubleshooting issues, taking notes, producing meeting minutes, etc
  • Support the telematics platform with connected solutions 
  •  Assist in documenting and translating business requirements and/or test cases.
  •  Assist with application testing across multiple browsers/devices.
  • Participate in quality management reviews to ensure designs, prototypes, and other work products satisfy requirements.
  •  Analyze data to provide insight into device inventory, usage, and cost/benefit analysis.

We especially love to hear if you have

  • Degree in Information Technology, or Management Information Systems or related experience
  • Basic understanding of IT and Digital Transformation
  • Possess training and/or experience with Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodology
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and concepts effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to be self-motivated/independent worker with keen attention to detail and follow-through
