Short Description

Responsible for desktop/laptop installation and support.


Provide first & second level desktop support for PC/LAN and laptop/workstation end-users including executives and senior-level management

Update and monitor ticketing systems

Provide routine problem reporting and recommendations to management

Utilize technical and procedure documentation for Help Desk, PC desktop/laptop configuration standards and install procedures

Configuration and deployment of new desktop and laptop systems

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and printing issues as they occur

Assist IT related projects

Provide new hardware/software for users as approved, assist in asset tag control and inventory management.

Install, configure, move, and retire PC equipment

Coordinate and collaborate effectively with technical teams

Establish and maintain good working relationship with clients

Overtime and occasional weekend shifts required as needed

Frequent regional travel may be required

Serve as a member of the “On-Call” support team

Resourceful, Customer focused, and Team player


    Professional Experience

    Experience supporting computers and printers in a network environment
    Knowledge/experience with a broad base of tools and technologies around Desktop and laptop support in an enterprise environment is required
    Interacts with management, technical, and business users to understand the business and technical requirements of the organization regarding assigned work tasks
    Works in a collaborative manner with other team members to balance and address operational tasks, project work, and business requests
    Supports application lifecycle for centrally supported PC applications
    Coordinate projects as assigned
    Provides operational support for endpoint protection, encryption, client management, and other client-side computer management solutions
    Work with other Desktop support staff to provide engineering technical solutions in support of business requirements
    Ensuring appropriate documentation is in place for assigned responsibilities
    Extensive knowledge of computer hardware (Dell, HP, IBM, etc.)
    Proficient in Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10
    Proficient in Office 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 Suites, and Office 365 Trend, SharePoint, various Adobe products, Internet Explorer, Skype, WebEx, Chrome, Java, Cisco VPN, and MS Outlook with MS Exchange for end users, and Service Now ticketing system
    Anti-Virus Symantec Endpoint Protection
    Knowledgeable of TCP/IP, DCHP, DNS, VPN, AD, and network
    Experience with Apple phones, tablets, and MacBook’s preferred
    Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to provide appropriate client support and interaction
    Experience with Altiris or similar software: remote control, software delivery and imaging
    Ability to work independently and with little supervision
    Ability to work well with others across many organizations including development, sales, marketing, finance, customer support, and field service

    Educational Background

    Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology or related two years minimum will also be considered Certification; ITIL Foundation, MCA+, MCP, MCSE preferred
