Job Overview

  • Work directly with the business to understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical design documents
  • Work on production support; handle critical situations and resolution of tickets raised by business users
  • Develop, test, debug, and modify application programs or code using RPGIII, RPGIV RPG Free, CL/ CLP, DB2/SQL and RPG/ILE programming
  • Conduct code reviews for the deliverables prepared by other team members, capture review/test defects & perform causal analysis at regular intervals to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain effective relations with team members and clients through strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Follow the architecture established, and recommend improvements
  • Support audit and compliance 
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information 
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership


  • 7+ years of experience in IBM iSeries AS400 development using RPG, RPG-ILE, RPG Free, CL, embedded and free standing SQL 
  • Proficiency is developing interactive and batch programs on iSeries 
  • Experience in Data Conversions from multiple sources (flat files, CSV, ASCII, etc.) to IBM i
  • Experience in developing and deploying web-services on IBM iSeries  
  • Experience in converting spool files to print layouts using XML, XSLT and Java Script
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Knowledge of end to end system development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches)
  • Supporting POS system running on iSeries is highly desirable 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or Management Information Systems or Equivalent is preferred 
  • Certification in IBM iSeries security and application programming is a plus

  • Quadrant Formstastic, ICS Forms, Open-Text
  • XML, XSLT, Java Script, .Net 
  • Integration to/from Web Applications (Web-Services, API)
