Short Description

The Senior Field Systems Analyst is an IT generalist with knowledge of a myriad of IT systems and solutions. Knowledge of the WAN, LAN, Server, Desktop, VoIP, and printer architecture is expected. General knowledge of software systems, databases, client-server architecture, and infrastructure management tools is also expected. An understanding of the current Infrastructure Services – Service Portfolio and processes is required.

A solid background in user support and troubleshooting is critical as this position involves dealing with a large, and often changing, number of day-to-day issues which arise in supporting the information technology requirements of HercRentals facilities and personnel. 

Along with this IT knowledge, it is imperative that the incumbent understands HercRental's business goals and management's objectives and priorities. The incumbent collaborates to develop methods and processes for supporting the large and diverse user community’s technology needs within the constraints of the business requirements and the Infrastructure Services Portfolio of offerings.

Excellent project/time management skills are essential to managing the response to the multitude of requests and issues while working on longer-range business needs in a rapidly changing technical environment.  The ability to respond quickly when financial, manufacturing production or maintenance systems are involved is important.

Keep IT Field Services Manager current on all IT projects during all phases of various projects; Mergers and Acquisitions, rreenfields, relocations, etc.

Communicate to supervisors regarding the status of projects.

Help build the team’s strategies; maintain timelines

Able to handle any escalated issue from the FSE / FSA personnel.
 

Responsibilities

  • Act as a communication conduit between Infrastructure Services and the Branch Manager's staff.
  • The sole point of contact representing Infrastructure Services.
  • Address and resolve IT concerns and needs of the facility user community.
  • Attend Facility/Department Staff meetings as needed to communicate our goals and address concerns.
  • Attend Meetings as required by the local facility and management: For example Group conference calls, Infrastructure Change Management conference calls, Facility Change Management conference calls, and Safety Meetings.
  • Responsible for carryout the overall facility infrastructure plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining Service Level Agreement with the facility and for setting staff expectations.
  • Travel may be required to attend face-to-face group meetings and project meetings.
  • Travel will be required for new branch projects. 
  • Oversee FSA and onsite IT contractor’s activities.
  • Works with the management to develop improvements to the support processes.
  • Provide business analysis and consulting functions for assessing user application requirements.
  • Take responsibility when appropriate for technical leadership for projects that impact the local site.
  • Act as technical liaison for the rollout of applications and technologies to a local site.
  • Act as technical liaison with vendors who supply purchased products/services to verify compliance and stability at a local site.
  • Overall coordination of local resources for project execution and facility support including Turnaround infrastructure.
  • Point of escalation from Field Systems Analyst on project issues.
  • Leading projects from the Field perspective.
  • Scheduling quarterly reviews with business contacts within their region.
  • Coordinating between applications and support teams.
     

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration/Accounting, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years IT experience related to IT Infrastructure support services.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all product and service needs and must maintain knowledge of changing technologies.
  • Experience implementing and tracking service level or metrics reporting.
  • Experience developing processes and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work on projects that range in size, complexity, and duration.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong Communications skills: Written, Oral and through Presentation materials
  • Working knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and ITSM (IT Service Management).
  • Experience with IT Supplier Relationships.
  • Knowledge of supplier relationships and tactical plan implementation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Software specifically MS/Excel.

    Educational Background
