The Sourcing Analyst’s primary responsibility is to proactively source and centrally manage all activities related to assigned commodity categories.  The main objective of this position is to negotiate procurement of goods and/or services by properly balancing considerations of price, quality and service while continually seeking opportunities to aggregate spend and drive deeper discounts to maximize financial impact. Additionally, the Sourcing Analyst will work directly with business stakeholders and other team members to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver continuous cost, performance and process improvement.

Professional Experience

Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology
Strong knowledge of process improvement and project management
Ability to draft contract language and understand legal terms and business law
Preferred - technical knowledge of HERC industrial equipment

Educational Background

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university

Conditions of Employment

3-5 years of professional services sourcing experience in purchasing
Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organizing/time management and problem-solving skills
Experienced negotiator, experience with negotiating consulting and temporary labour agreements and contract terms


  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and work independently to meet objectives under aggressive timelines
  • Results orientated, excellent analytical, process and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in negotiating complex agreements for goods and services. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across all corporate divisions to create optimal procurement approaches
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
