Short Description

This position will function within the Tax Department, and report to the Indirect Senior Tax Manager. The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage tax data and update the tax software, as well as any research or analysis needed to ensure that the system is taxing correctly. This position will work closely with numerous departments, to ensure compliance with state tax laws and company policies. In addition, this position will assist with other tax duties within the department as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review of current tax tables to identify possible taxing and compliance issues.
  • Research tax laws and rates to ensure taxing matrix is within SOX compliance issues.
  • Update and enter tax rates for identified overrides, and taxing exceptions.
  • Research current overrides to ensure tax compliance.
  • Assist the Tax department with audits and various other research and tax duties.
  •  Oversee miscellaneous taxes laws utilized to minimize property tax liability and recovery.

Requirements

    Professional Experience

    It is preferable if candidate was familiar with rental industry computer software, and Vertex Taxing software
    1-2 years in Accounting
