Short Description
We are searching for a dynamic individual with experience in safety training to be a part of our team. You are an instructor who can consistently lead training sessions with energy, intelligence, honesty and charm - someone who will be able to engage and interact with employees of any level or in any industry.
Under the direction of the Product Training Supervisor, the Product Safety Trainer performs a wide range of activities related to safety training and safety program administration. This position requires working onsite with various clients and their employees; the role also supports Herc branch personnel on safety training matters, as well as research and follow-up work completed at the office. Experience with required regulatory compliance is expected. You are detail-oriented and have excellent computer & technology skills, primarily with Microsoft Suite software.
Responsibilities
- Complete sales activities such as cold calls, jobsite visits, and meeting with customers to identify customer training needs.
- Quote all training
- Schedule and book travel
- Participate in required meetings
- Communicate schedule daily via the schedule provided
- Track all expenses and submit expense reports on regular intervals
- Prepare all training materials and classroom prior to delivery of training courses
- Coordinate, with the customer or branch personnel, the availability of equipment for the evaluation portion of training
- Conduct training classes for customers
- Stay up to date on regulations that apply within the industry
- Complete proper and timely invoicing, training delivery to customers, proper document storage, training content updates, and professional development
- Conduct regular training and documentation self-audits
- Maintains financial reports and presents at regular intervals
- Work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to support the customer
- Meet with customers to actively communicate programs and objectives
- Attends courses, conferences, & seminars as necessary
- Interpreting government/agency regulations
- Carry out other duties, as requested by the Safety Training Supervisor or Manager
Skills
- Bi/Multi-Lingual preferred
- Presenting & public speaking
- Analyzing complex written documents
- Strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritize, handle time constraints, and manage shifting priorities
- Mastery of sales skills such as selling solutions over price
- Effective questioning and feedback; assessing customer training needs
- Communicating effectively in a diverse range of audiences and settings
- Knowledge of regulatory agencies & associated standards OSHA, ANSI, & CSA
- Detail-oriented
- Teaching adult learners
- Detail-oriented and have excellent computer & technology skills, primarily with Microsoft Suite software
Educational Background
Conditions of Employment
- Minimum 3 years practical experience operating equipment and training group sessions
- Proven ability to build and nurture relationships
- Energy Safety Canada Training Credentials
- Knowledge of teaching aids and equipment, selection of training methodologies
- Must have advanced computer skills
- Able to lift and transport training equipment, and set up classrooms
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Ability to travel 5 days per month to Fort McMurray. 3-5 days per month to Vancouver.
