Short Description

The Senior Partner of People and Culture is an in-house position that will lead on culture practices in Western Canada, and provide expertise and support in the areas of Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Policy and Procedure Development, and HR Compliance.

 

This unique position develops, implements, and aligns HR programs with business objectives, serving as a strategic partner to the Director of People and Culture while supporting employees in their day to day HR needs. As the first executive dedicated to the people function, you'll develop workforce plans and programs that align with the organization's overall strategic objectives, forecast talent needs and address the talent gaps, orchestrate learning skills and career development of the workforce, employee orientation, education, and training, as well as management development and employee assistance.

Long Description

Performance Profile:

  • First 30 days: Learn about the company, culture, people, capabilities, customers, past performances, collaborate with leaders to understand their dreams for people.
  • People immersion: Analyze employee experience of company culture from onboarding to departure. Develop guidelines that promote decision-making by managers and employees to exhibit core values. Actively promote, reward and celebrate exhibition of action that enhance employee morale. Develop and deliver employee coaching and training to build leaders who create leaders. Achieve and sustain high employee engagement rating.
  • Performance development: Facilitate leaders at every level in developing and publishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis. Coach leaders in enabling employees to adopt a strong career sense and path. Support employees in creating a performance profile for every period in alignment with KPIs and career path.
  • Employee Engagement: Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention.
  • Participate in coaching, counseling and advising management and staff to ensure resolution of employment related matters.
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and provide reports that support decision making in specified areas.
  • Function as primary liaison to internal committees and working groups.
  • Implement new, and enhance existing staff recognition and reward programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation. Ensure adherence to provincial, and local legal requirements, advise management on needed actions to remain compliant.
  • Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Lead the Western Region team in creating an inviting cohesive employee experience.

 

What you need: 

  •  7+ years of experience building alignment, leading people and culture initiatives and coaching to a higher level of leadership
  • Proven track record of providing HR solutions; staff mapping/workforce planning for fast growing organizations
  • Experience in leading 360 talent acquisition, talent performance and talent management functions

Responsibilities

As a key member of our HR team, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

  • Help maintain a positive employee and labour relations climate
  • Coach and advise on employee relations issues
  • Leave of Absence management
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns
  • Knowledge of Provincial regulations including the Employment Standards Act and Human Rights legislation
  • Research and complete special projects, as assigned

Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior, human resources, organizational development, or educator at the secondary school or collegiate level

Educational Background

Bachelor or Master - Human Resource Management or a Bachelor's degree with significant experience in Human Resources

Conditions of Employment

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
