Short Description

This position is responsible for analyzing, advising, and managing worker’s compensation, general liability, property and auto claims. It also involves performing thorough review for proper claim strategy to ensure that the TPA adheres to Best Practice claims management and reserving of assigned liability and worker’s compensation claims.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the investigation, negotiation, and settlement of third-party claims by the TPA within agreed technical and service standards
  • Create strategy, coordinate offers/demands and facilitate the authorization of settlements to achieve the most cost-effective outcome
  • Report all claims exceeding authority level to the Claims Manager in the agreed format and follow the direction given
  • Provide information on incident frequency/severity and make recommendations to management

Professional Experience

Proven track record of communication with Management, TPA, customers, vendors etc.
Familiarity with overall claims processes and legal terminology
Familiarity with subrogation or damage recovery process
Knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, procedure, and regulations
Understanding of risk management principles, risk and insurance program structures
Understanding of HERC peer/comparative industries
CPCU, ARM, AIC or other claims related insurance designation preferred

Educational Background

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Skills

  • Ability to identify and implement efficiency measures and eliminate unnecessary cost
  • Communication using a range of medium to be effective to a wide-ranging audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Willing and able to establish, build, sustain and share strong professional relationships with relevant groups both inside and outside the business
  • Research skills to develop and verify critical information
  • Strong organizational skills

Compensation Data

$65,000 - $75,000
