Herc Rentals Employee Services LLC seeks a Senior Manager, Digital Engineering (Bonita Springs, FL) to ensure the implementation and support of leading-edge digital platforms to achieve business objectives, while delivering cutting-edge mobile capability across the enterprise for customers and producing innovative solutions. Lead analyses to optimize platform architecture, reliability, maintainability, testability, vulnerability, system security, and other quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure platform success. Lead digital development teams, ensure development of unique technological solutions, and manage the stability of production applications, services, and processes specific to digital platforms. Work closely with teams within IT as well as within the broader organization to under business needs, and ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Lead a highly skilled team to transform existing front end and back-end architecture into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services. Enact a strategic plan for developing and empowering team members with processes that result in improvements to code quality, security, efficiency, velocity, and systems, as well as engineering processes. Collaborate closely with the product management team to deliver products and platforms which accelerate delivery while fostering an environment which allows for test and learn culture. This position will manage four (4) Application Developers and one (1) Engineering Manager. Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. 10% domestic travel required. 


Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in leading teams, developing, maintaining consumer and business-to-business web or mobile applications. Must have experience with: Technical leadership including application architecture design, code reviews, release responsibilities, and production support; Modern platform architectures and emerging technologies including Java/J2EE, Java Script, C#, .NET, Angular and React; Cloud based development including AWS or Azure; Telematics technology; Agile methodologies and cross functional teams; Leading onsite/offshore, and solution architecture teams across a diverse technology landscape; Credit card/payment processing; Database technologies including relational and No SQL solutions; Building, scaling, and managing integration platforms and APIs; Evolving monolithic systems into modern micro service architectures; Engineering and coding best practices including CI/CD techniques, BDD and TDD; and Pub/Sub mechanism including RabbitMQ or Kafka.
