Short Description

Tax Manager – This position will function within the Tax Department, and report to the Senior Director Income Tax. The primary responsibilities of this position are to review and manage the timely and accurate filing of all federal, state and international income tax returns as well as assist with tax provision and special projects as required. Individual will supervise Income Tax Analysts, interns, etc.  This position will work closely with numerous departments, to ensure compliance to state tax laws and company policies. In addition, this position will assist with other tax duties within the department as needed. Not Remote.

Responsibilities

Compliance

  • Oversee preparation of all US, state and international tax returns ensuring there timely and accurate filing
  • Calculate and ensure payment of all tax return extensions, return payments and estimated payments for all jurisdictions as required
  • Track and resolve all notices received by the Company from taxing jurisdictions communicating any significant issues to the Senior Director Income Tax/VP Tax

Tax Provision

  • Prepare, as required by Senior Director Income Tax/VP Tax, provision schedules meeting all internally/externally imposed deadlines
  • Accurately and thoroughly prepare all internal control documentation as required meeting all internally/externally imposed deadlines

Special Projects

  • Special projects by request of Senior Director Income Tax/VP Tax

                     Indirect Tax

  • Assist Indirect Tax manager with tax box and special issues as required

Professional Experience

2-3 Experience working in Corporate Income Tax department
2-3 years in Accounting
Must stay abreast of current developments through professional literature and outside seminars.
Knowledge of accounting for income taxes (SFAS 109/ASC 740) and RIA Checkpoint, OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision is a major plus.
Accounting principles and procedures, financial statement preparation/analysis, accounting fundamentals, time management techniques, quality services fundamentals.
MS Office Outlook, Word and Excel, internet explorer, company’s intranet system and corporate policies and procedures.

Educational Background

A CPA license is preferred, but not required.
Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Masters preferred.
