Job Purpose

As a Jobsite Setup Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, and your role is critical to the proper handling and installation of customer equipment and services. What you will do...

• Safely deliver, load/unload, and install rental equipment, including pumps, power, and temperature control units
• Apply mechanical ability to perform minor equipment maintenance as directed by the branch manager or onsite supervisor
• Provide excellent customer service and practical solutions to customers
• Advance your career through company-provided training, with the ability to increase pay as you build skills
• Plan projects, including creating a project plan and executing it with team members
• Prepare the yard, ensuring all rental equipment and necessary materials are ready for shipment
• Represent Herc Rentals in communications with customers, Sales, and internal resources
• Document projects, including daily notes, labor logs, progress reports, change orders, and all other required documentation per project protocol
• Assist with shop and yard cleanliness and equipment readiness when not assigned to a project
• Assist with deliveries, pickups, and day-to-day operations when not assigned to a project
• Support shop mechanics engaged in equipment repairs or maintenance when not assigned to a project
• Attend all required training, including manufacturer training as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of work experience using mechanical or technical skills
• Basic equipment knowledge and troubleshooting experience with pumps, generators, power distribution, and temperature control
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles; CDL a plus
• Required to lift up to 40 pounds and continuously carry 5 pounds
